Meeka Metals has begun its transition from gold project developer to producer, with commissioning of its Murchison project in Western Australia getting under way.

The ASX-listed company said on Wednesday that it was feeding ore into the processing plant. Dry commissioning, focused on testing equipment and systems, progressed successfully, and wet commissioning was under way.

Meeka said it expected its first gold pour from gravity circuits later this month.

“With commissioning of processing in June 2025, we achieve an important milestone for the Murchison as we transition from developer to producer status,” said Meeka MD Tim Davidson. “It rounds out a period of consistent delivery against our development timeline and reflects our focused actions to bring the project on line.

“We are now focused on maximising the expanded openpit mining opportunity following the success we are having with the drill bit. Additionally, first ore is expected from our first underground mine at Andy Well in the September 2025 quarter.”

Meeka said first gold sales and associated cash flow were expected in early July. The company would also start ore development and growth drilling at Andy Well later this month as it ramped up exploration alongside operations.
